WHAT ONCE WAS, WILL BE AGAIN
THE ALAJMO FAMILY
Since the end of the second World War, the Alajmo family has been self-employed in the food and restaurant business. Their story begins with Nonno Vittorio who worked as a cheesemonger in downtown Padua inside the covered market. In 1981, Vittorio’s daughter Rita Chimetto, together with her husband Erminio Alajmo, decided to open Le Calandre. In 1994, Rita and Erminio handed the keys of Le Calandre to their children, moving across town to manage La Montecchia. Over the years, Raffaele (Raf), Laura and Massimiliano (Max) each found their path within the family business, helping it to grown into an international restaurant group. Today, Raffaele’s son Giovanni is following in his family’s footprints as director of Grancaffè & Ristorante Quadri in Venice.
